We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Programme Manager to contribute to delivering the vision of the newly established Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Circular Metals funded by the UKRI. This centre is based at Brunel University London in collaboration with the University of Warwick and University College London.
The Programme Manager will play a major role in the management of the Centre and in the successful implementation of the research programme and business plan. The successful candidate will be a member of the CircularMetal Management Group (CMG), and a supporting member of the CircularMetal Advisory Board (CAB) and the CircularMetal Forum (CF). The successful candidate will work closely with the PI (Principal Investigator) to execute day-to-day management of the Centre and to coordinate the research activities between the 3 universities. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to manage the relevant interfaces between wider stakeholders (e.g., the academic research teams, the industrial collaborators, the CE Hub, the programme sponsor, and the relevant government departments), and to lead the development and execution of an extensive outreach programme. Further important aspects of the role are to assist with the attainment of Research funding from a variety of funding sources and to contribute to the researcher training programme.
The successful candidate should have at least a first degree in Science, Engineering or Business Administration but preferably with some background in metallic materials and/or circular economy. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong track record in project management and working experience in a research-based environment. The successful candidate should have excellent skills in interpersonal communications, oral and written communications, organising events and motivating team members. They will also require an extremely flexible attitude and a professional, responsive and creative approach. In addition, they will be expected to travel in the UK, and overseas when necessary.
